Kyiv reportedly sent an updated plan to end Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine to the White House on Wednesday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

AFP cited two unnamed Ukrainian officials \u201cwith knowledge of the matter\u201d as their source for the information, although they shared no details about its contents.<\/p>\n

In late November, the details of a 28-point plan to end Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine drafted by US and Russian officials<\/a> leaked to the press. In its original form, it would have seen Ukraine forswear NATO membership, limit the size of its armed forces, and cede territory Moscow has thus far been unable to win on the battlefield.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian and European diplomats drafted a version of the plan with terms less unilaterally favorable to Russia. Despite US President Donald Trump\u2019s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner traveling to Moscow to discuss it with Russian President Vladimir Putin in person, the Kremlin did not accept the revised terms.<\/p>\n

The contents of Ukraine\u2019s latest proposal, which is now said to have been delivered to Washington, are unknown. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists on Dec. 9 that it takes the form of three key documents.<\/p>\n

One document serves as a general, 20-point framework for peace; another concerns security guarantees; and the last focuses on Ukraine\u2019s postwar economic recovery.<\/p>\n

Zelensky said on Wednesday that talks with US officials<\/a> (including Kushner, Trump\u2019s treasury secretary, and billionaire BlackRock CEO Larry Fink) about the latter document had been \u201cproductive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had some little disputes about people, and we\u2019re going to see how it turns out,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

He also said he had not yet decided whether or not to take European leaders up on their proposal of another round of meetings with Ukraine in Europe \u2013 on the grounds that \u201cwe don\u2019t want to be wasting time.\u201d<\/p>\n
