On December 11 in Dubai, all semifinal bouts of the IBA 2025 Boxing World Championships took place, determining the finalists<\/a> of the tournament. Russia became the absolute record holder for the number of finalists \u2014 12 athletes in 13 weight categories.<\/p>\n

Out of 13 Russian boxers, only one failed to reach the final \u2014 Andrey Peglivanyan (57 kg), who lost to Tajikistan\u2019s Khusravkhon Rahimov in the semifinal.<\/p>\n

Six boxers from Uzbekistan and four from Kazakhstan also reached the finals. Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Azerbaijan each produced one finalist.

\nTeam Armenia, which had five semifinalists, failed to bring any boxer to the final and finished the tournament with five bronze medals.<\/p>\n

The finals will feature six Russia\u2013Uzbekistan matchups and three Russia\u2013Kazakhstan showdowns. Theoretically, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan could prevent Russia from taking first place in gold medals, but the Russian athletes have been demonstrating excellent form and high-level preparation throughout the tournament, and in close bouts they are often helped by the judges. Therefore, it will not be easy.<\/p>\n
