Rubio has already demonstrated that he can survive deep into Grand Tours, while also understanding where his strengths are best expressed. Mountain stages, tactical days and moments where the favourites hesitate remain his natural hunting ground.<\/p>\n A wider perspective on Grand Tour success<\/p>\n Rubio\u2019s outlook also reflects a broader, less insular view of success at the highest level. While Colombian cycling continues to search for its next Grand Tour winner, he avoids framing the challenge as a purely national one.<\/p>\n \u201cColombia is now trying to win Grand Tours again. It\u2019s complicated, but there are good riders and it can be achieved in the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He then widened the lens further, removing national rivalry from the equation altogether.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know whether Colombia or Spain will achieve it first, but I hope that soon one of the riders, whether Colombian or Spanish, manages it.\u201d<\/p>\n That mindset fits naturally within Movistar Team, where Rubio describes his environment in personal rather than professional terms.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel very happy in this team, for me it is like a family,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are very excited about this new season.\u201d<\/p>\n Measuring progress without pressure<\/p>\n Rubio\u2019s plan to tackle all three Grand Tours is not about chasing a statistic or ticking a career box.
