The Toronto Blue Jays signed reliever Tyler Rogers to a three-year contract worth $37 million with a vesting option on Friday, according to Ken Rosenthal<\/a> of The Athletic. <\/p>\n

The overall contract value with the option included is $48 million, per Rosenthal. <\/p>\n

Toronto already ranked No. 3 among MLB teams with a $275 million payroll in 2026 before signing Rogers (via FanGraphs<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the Blue Jays’ projected bullpen.<\/p>\n

Rogers opened the 2025 season with the San Francisco Giants before he was\u00a0traded<\/a>\u00a0to the New York Mets on July 30. He spent each of the first six years of his career in San Francisco prior to the swap.<\/p>\n

The submarine pitcher put together an impressive 2025 campaign with both teams, posting a 1.98 ERA to go along with 0.944 WHIP across 81 combined appearances.<\/p>\n

Rogers owned a 1.80 ERA with the Giants last season before compiling a 2.30 ERA as a member of the Mets, an encouraging sign for Toronto following his latest change of scenery.<\/p>\n

He boasts a career 2.76 ERA despite averaging just 6.5 strikeouts per nine innings, routinely forcing opposing hitters to ground out. Rogers’ 62.1 ground-ball percentage in 2025 ranked No. 6 among all relief pitchers (via\u00a0FanGraphs<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays are coming off an impressive season in which they put together a 94-68 record before advancing to Game 7 of the World Series, but their bullpen struggled with consistency at times throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Toronto’s 3.98 bullpen ERA only\u00a0ranked<\/a>\u00a0No. 16 in the majors.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays have already been one of the most active MLB teams in the offseason so far,\u00a0handing<\/a>\u00a0starting pitcher Dylan Cease a seven-year contract worth $210 million on Nov. 26.<\/p>\n
