In six games for the Red Sox, May had a 1-4 record.<\/p>\n<p>In return, the Dodgers acquired outfielders James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard.<\/p>\n<p>May\u2019s career has been riddled with injuries, including Tommy John surgery that wiped out most of his 2021 and 2022 seasons, a UCL injury that cost him the entire 2024 season and an esophagus tear suffered while eating a salad, which required emergency surgery and nearly two weeks in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Through seven major league seasons, May pitched 324 innings with a 3.86 ERA.
