Last night, live from Madison Square Garden in New York, the young Montreal Canadiens goaltender, Jacob Fowler, suffered his first NHL loss.<\/p>\n

It was absolutely not his fault, especially since, personally, I was once again very impressed by his calmness and poise in front of his net.<\/p>\n

I sincerely hope that Canadiens management will keep him (at least for a little while longer) in Montreal, even though he lost his game.<\/p>\n

A gesture that gets people talking involving young Jacob Fowler<\/p>\n

But rather what happened after the Rangers’ third goal.<\/p>\n

The rookie goaltender Fowler was roughed up by a Rangers player, and what did the Canadiens players who were on the ice do? Yes. Absolutely nothing at all.<\/p>\n

Martin St-Louis addressed it during his postgame press conference, but it is completely unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Joe Veleno and Noah Dobson were notably in the thick of the action and were well positioned to defend their young goaltender, but no-nothing at all!<\/p>\n

“Im sorry, Fowler gets pushed in, someones gotta fight there” – HFTV<\/p>\n

I really hope the Canadiens players do a better job of protecting young Fowler next time!<\/p>\n
