Actually, scratch that. I really don\u2019t like mornings. I struggle to get out of bed and when I do, it is a case of doing the bare minimum before leaving the house.<\/p>\n<p>However, I would like to change that. In an effort to become more productive, I wanted to see if swapping my morning routine for a better one, could help make me feel more productive.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"7f91810d-2421-4f6a-a322-c872f4b2da93-2\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">Currently, especially on weekdays, I roll out of bed, get dressed and ready for the day, and go. But surely I can fit more in? Design me two morning routines \u2014 one for weekdays, between 6:50 and 7:50, and one for the weekends &#8211; between 8-10 when I have more time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT responded with the very supportive \u201cYou\u2019re not lazy \u2014 mornings are a systems problem. If the system is vague, motivation collapses. Below are two clear, realistic routines designed to remove decision-making and build momentum, not perfection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, how does my new day look? On the weekdays, it is split into small increments. First, for 10 minutes I get out of bed (with no phone scrolling), I drink some water and I open a window.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.<\/p>\n<p>Then, some light movement for another 10 minutes, before getting showered and dressed and listening to a podcast.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I finish up with a \u201csimple, repeatable breakfast\u201d and ten minutes of reading, journaling or planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That is certainly much more productive than my current efforts of bare minimum. Do all the same sorts of things, but with 20-30 minutes set aside for each.<\/p>\n<p>I gave this same one a go, but I just couldn\u2019t help but feel like I should make the most of the weekend, lying in and doing nothing for longer.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I felt more productive but it wasn\u2019t for me. So, I asked ChatGPT to try again, making it slightly lazier without wasting the day.<\/p>\n<p>It adjusted, giving me longer in bed, allowing me to use my phone if I wanted to.
