Is \u201cGas-Leak Cinema<\/a>\u201d dead? Ella McCay debuted at number six at the domestic box office, with $2.1 million in ticket sales. That\u2019s across 2500 screens, putting James L. Brooks\u2019s latest flick in the Christy zone<\/a>. Not even Lisa Simpson doing the #EllaMcCayChallenge<\/a> could save the film at the box office. The film also has a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, with critics calling it \u201cAn odd, messy, misjudged shambles\u201d (Empire<\/a>) but also \u201cdelightfully weird\u201d (The Atlantic<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Ella McCay couldn\u2019t break the glass ceiling and enter the top 5 of the Box Office. So what did? At number 1 was Zootopia 2, adding to its already $1 billion+ global box office<\/a>. Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2 came in at number 2, with its domestic total at almost $100 million. At number 3 was Wicked: For Good with an additional $8.55 mil for its box office. Indian spy thriller Dhurandhar brought in $7.9 million at number 4. And Now You See Me: Now You Don\u2019t is hanging on at number 5, with $2.31 million in its fifth week of release. The real magic trick is longevity at the movie theater.<\/p>\n
