{"id":347726,"date":"2025-12-15T23:31:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/347726\/"},"modified":"2025-12-15T23:31:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:31:09","slug":"etobicoke-bar-accused-of-selling-alcohol-stolen-from-the-lcbo-speaks-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/347726\/","title":{"rendered":"Etobicoke bar accused of selling alcohol stolen from the LCBO speaks out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A bar in south Etobicoke is speaking out after the regulator recently announced that it is moving forward to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cp24.com\/local\/toronto\/2025\/12\/09\/etobicoke-bar-accused-of-repeatedly-buying-alcohol-stolen-from-lcbo\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cp24.com\/local\/toronto\/2025\/12\/09\/etobicoke-bar-accused-of-repeatedly-buying-alcohol-stolen-from-lcbo\/\">revoke its liquor license<\/a> amid allegations that its owner and manager knowingly and repeatedly bought and sold alcohol that was stolen from the LCBO.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a statement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/12713602061\/user\/1049542069\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/12713602061\/user\/1049542069\">posted on social media<\/a> on Monday afternoon, Southside Johnny\u2019s Bar and Grill, at 3653 Lakeshore Blvd. W., thanked its customers, friends, and neighbours for their \u201coverwhelming support, kind messages, and loyalty\u201d during this time, underlining that they\u2019re \u201copen for business and fully licensed to serve liquor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Ongoing false and misleading information\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The bar went on to say that it is issuing the statement to follow up and address the \u201congoing false and misleading information being circulated about Southside Johnny\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cMuch of what is being shared is inaccurate and does not reflect the truth of who we are or how we operate. THE CANADIAN PRESS\/Lars Hagberg (Lars Hagberg) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">On Dec. 9, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario announced that it has issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the liquor license of the popular live music venue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The AGCO\u2019s investigation, which was conducted with police, found the liquor in question was allegedly stolen from a nearby LCBO and that the products were then stored at the bar.
