She defeated four Grand Slam singles champions, including four-time major winner Naomi Osaka in the final, en route to her first title on tour.

She also won a WTA title in Hong Kong in November, claimed four consecutive ITF World Tennis Tour titles early in the year and advanced to the third round at the French Open.

She was named one of the International Tennis Federation’s five future stars last week and was recently hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney at his office on Parliament Hill.

WATCH | Mboko defeats Osaka to win National Bank Open:

Canada’s Victoria Mboko wins the National Bank Open

Victoria Mboko capped an unreal run in Montreal to capture the National Bank Open title.

Listen to this article Estimated 1 minute The audio version of this article is generated by AI-based technology.…

[442
49,48,82,593
post-348048","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tennis","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-sports","tag-tennis
["GET
