The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed national defensive back\u00a0Jayden Dalke\u00a0to a one-year contract extension.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dalke\u00a0(6\u20191-200) rejoins the Roughriders after a\u00a0strong 2025 season in which he recorded\u00a0three\u00a0defensive\u00a0tackles\u00a0and\u00a013 special teams\u00a0tackles\u00a0in 18\u00a0regular-season games\u00a0for the eventual Grey Cup Champions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A native of Leduc,\u00a0Alta.,\u00a0Dalke was\u00a0selected\u00a0by the Roughriders\u00a0in the\u00a0fifth\u00a0round (54th overall) of the 2022 CFL Draft. He\u00a0made an immediate impact, playing in all 18 games of his rookie season.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
During a\u00a0strong 2024 season,\u00a0he recorded 14 total tackles, one sack\u00a0and a forced fumble over 16 games.\u00a0He\u00a0also\u00a0had a standout year\u00a0in\u00a02023,\u00a0registering\u00a044 total tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles over 14 games.\u00a0He was named the CFL\u2019s Top Performer of the Week by Pro Football Focus in Week 7 after forcing a critical fumble on a punt return.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dalke enjoyed a successful collegiate career with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, with\u00a0whom\u00a0he\u00a0played three seasons. Over 16 games, he recorded 94 tackles (two for a loss), three interceptions, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. In his senior season, Dalke earned recognition as a Canada West First-Team All-Star and a U Sports Second-Team All-Canadian. In 2019, he was unanimously selected as a Canada West First-Team All-Star.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
