Ex-UFC fighter Justin Jaynes had a temporary suspension extended on Tuesday during a meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission following a positive drug test after his most recent fight in October.<\/p>\n
The commission announced that Jaynes tested positive for the cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine following his win in Tuff-N-Uff on Oct. 25. As a result of the positive drug test, Jaynes was suspended on Nov. 26, and he remains that way until the commission hands down potential punishment.<\/p>\n
Jaynes could face a suspension, fines or potentially having his win overturned to a no-contest as a result of the positive drug test. The commission will re-address Jaynes at a later meeting or after an adjudication agreement is reached.<\/p>\n
Debuting in the UFC back in 2020, Jaynes accepted a short-notice fight and pulled off a stunning upset when he knocked out Frank Camacho in his octagon debut, which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately that served as Jaynes\u2019 only win in the UFC after he dropped his next four in a row, including losses to Charles Rosa, Devonte Smith, Gabriel Benitez and Gavin Tucker. Following his final loss in 2021, Jaynes was released from his UFC contract.<\/p>\n
Jaynes went onto lose two more fights outside the UFC before finally rebounding with a submission win at Fierce FC 30 in 2024. He suffered two more losses including a bare-knuckle fight before getting a decision win over Marlon Gonzales in Tuff-N-Uff in October, which is where he tested positive for cocaine.<\/p>\n
