The weather service noted that high winds and icy conditions are expected to make travel tricky even before the snow arrives.<\/p>\n<p>Read more:<\/p>\n<p>According to Brian Proctor, meteorologist with Environment Canada, the upgrade simply means we are closer to the timing of the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can take the watches and push them up to warning level, and orange tends to be more impactful than yellow in terms of what we\u2019re looking at,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The system is expected to move in on Wednesday morning, lasting until the evening, bringing 10 to 20 cm of snow to Regina and the Trans-Canada corridor, Saskatoon and along the Yellowhead highway.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/dec-16-pm-winter-blizzard-ec-screenshot.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1022948\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1022948\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/dec-16-pm-winter-blizzard-ec-screenshot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"773\" height=\"708\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1022948\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">As of Tuesday afternoon, a blizzard warning was declared for much of southern Saskatoon.
