The official trailer for Emily in Paris Season 5 debuted earlier this month and teases what’s to come for Emily.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis season is a tale of two cities. Rome and Paris,\u201d creator Darren Star told Netflix\u2019s Tudum<\/a> earlier this year. \u201cStraddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead of tomorrow’s premiere, we\u2019re breaking down everything we know about Emily in Paris Season 5.<\/p>\n When does Season 5 come out?<\/p>\n All 10 episodes of Emily in Paris will be available to stream on Netflix on Dec. 18.<\/p>\n Who will be part of the Season 5 cast?<\/p>\n In addition to Collins, these stars are set to return for Emily in Paris Season 5:<\/p>\n Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello Muratori<\/p>\n Ashley Park as Mindy Chen<\/p>\n Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau<\/p>\n William Abadie as Antoine Lambert<\/p>\n Lucien Laviscount as Alfie<\/p>\n Thalia Besson as Genevieve<\/p>\n Arnaud Binard as Laurent G<\/p>\n Deadline previously announced<\/a> two new additions to the Season 5 roster in July: Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA, Junction) will play Jake, an American expat living in Paris, and Mich\u00e8le Laroque (Brilliantissime) will play Yvette, one of Sylvie\u2019s oldest friends.<\/p>\n In May, Deadline<\/a> also confirmed that Oscar-nominated actress Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting, Will & Grace) joined the cast. Driver will portray Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie\u2019s who marries into royalty.<\/p>\n Camille Razat, however, is one cast member who will not be returning for Season 5. Razat, who has starred as Gabriel\u2019s on-again, off-again girlfriend since the first season, confirmed the news in an Instagram post from April 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter an incredible journey, I\u2019ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThis character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons.\u201d<\/p>\n Where did we leave off, anyway?<\/p>\n Where do we begin?! When Gabriel finds out that Camille is pregnant \u2014 which she lies about, by the way \u2014 he begins to prioritize her and their future child over Emily, which strains their relationship. At one point, Gabriel leaves Emily stranded at the top of a mountain to attend to Camille, prompting Emily\u2019s realization that she\u2019ll never be the priority in their relationship. Emily breaks up with Gabriel as a result.<\/p>\n Eager to get away, Emily agrees to oversee the opening of a new Agence Grateau office in Rome. Her burgeoning relationship with Marcello also influences her decision to take the job. Gabriel, meanwhile, learns of Camille\u2019s “nonpregnancy.”<\/p>\n While the series resumes in Italy, Star is assuring fans that Emily will be returning to France.<\/p>\n \u201cShe didn\u2019t change her Instagram handle to ‘Emily in Rome.’ She is working in Rome sometimes. Sylvie\u2019s company has an office in Rome. Emily\u2019s getting that on its feet,\u201d Star previously told Deadline<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t necessarily think that it means a permanent \u2014 in my mind, it\u2019s definitely not a permanent \u2014 move to Rome. We\u2019re not leaving Paris.\u201d<\/p>\n Do we know what the storylines are about?<\/p>\n While we don\u2019t know a ton of details, we do know that Emily will continue to explore things with Marcello, which Collins revealed she\u2019s on board with.<\/p>\n \u201cMarcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance,\u201d she previously told Tudum<\/a>. \u201cWe want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. (Caroline Dubois\/Netflix)<\/p>\n A blooming romance also appears to be in the works between Mindy and Alfie, who, per the official trailer, grow closer this season.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s fun though is this feels like it came out of left field, but also, Lucien [Laviscount] is one of my best friends on the show,\u201d Chen told Us Weekly<\/a> earlier this month. \u201cSo we were always laughing about how we love hanging out, but we don\u2019t have scenes together. It made it really fun this year.\u201d<\/p>\n What has the cast said?<\/p>\n Following the Emily in Paris Season 5 premiere in Paris on Dec. 15, Collins took to Instagram to thank her fans for their continued support.<\/p>\n “Parisian premiere of our dreams. Cannot believe it’s been FIVE seasons and six years with my @emilyinparis family,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos. “Where does the time go? So much love, from the bottom of my heart, to all the fans \u2014 and everyone who makes this show of ours happen. We are eternally grateful and forever in awe. Season five is on your screens in three short days.”<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Collins and Park revealed on Instagram<\/a> that filming for the show’s fifth season had officially wrapped.<\/p>\n “And that\u2019s another wrap on @emilyinparis. \u2026 Here\u2019s to five seasons of friendship turned sisterhood \u2014 Venice, Paris, Rome, anywhere is home with you by my side,” read their joint caption. “Incredibly grateful for our Emily family and so extremely proud of what we all created together this year. Arrivederci ’til December 18! \u2026”<\/p>\n Collins and Park’s heartfelt Instagram post comes days after Diego Borella, an assistant director on the show, suddenly died<\/a> while on the set in August. Filming was briefly paused but resumed a few days later.<\/p>\n In an October 2024 interview with IndieWire<\/a>, Bravo hinted at the possibility of not returning to Emily in Paris.<\/p>\n \u201cThe \u2018sexy chef\u2019 was very much part of me in Season 1, and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take. (Netflix)<\/p>\n Bravo initially saw \u201ca lot of me in [Gabriel]\u201d in Season 1 but was disappointed that they \u201cmade him kind of unaware of his surroundings\u201d and that he was \u201calways victimizing\u201d and \u201cbeing completely lost in translation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole,” he added. “I really grew apart from him.\u201d<\/p>\n The Freedom star seemed to have changed his tune by April 2025. In an interview with Parade<\/a>, Bravo revealed plans to begin filming the fifth season of Emily in Paris in May and that \u201cit\u2019s the best season so far.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI had lunch with Darren a few days back, and he told me a bit without telling me too much.
