Tom Brady isn’t making an NFL comeback from retirement, even after Philip Rivers took five years off and then suited up for the Indianapolis Colts<\/a> at age 44.<\/p>\n

But that’s not because the GOAT, the legendary QB of both the New England Patriots<\/a> and Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>, doesn’t think he could do it.<\/p>\n

On the contrary: The 48-year old Brady is quite confident in himself.<\/p>\n

On a recent podcast appearance<\/a>, Brady said he’d need a month to get ready.<\/p>\n

“I’d whoop a– right now,” Brady told Shaq and host Jared Greenberg. “Give me a month.”<\/p>\n

Brady last played in the 2022 season with the Bucs, when he was 45. He went just 8-9 that season to close out his NFL career.<\/p>\n

Now, he’s happily holding down color commentator duties for the No. 1 Fox NFL team while also serving as a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There’s no incentive for Brady to come back.<\/p>\n

He also explains that it’d be tough to make the commitment for a full season. He thinks he could still get out there and win football games, but all the behind the scenes work that goes into completing an entire schedule would be a tougher thing to pursue at 48 years old.<\/p>\n

There are definitely football fans who would love to see Brady try. Nostalgia would be sky high for Pats fans.<\/p>\n

Brady wouldn’t get to play for New England, though, not with Drake Maye entrenched as franchise QB. He’d probably have to go to a less-than-ideal situation, which makes the whole idea even less appealing for Brady.<\/p>\n

He still thinks he could get it done, though. You wouldn’t expect any less confidence than that from the GOAT.<\/p>\n
