(File photo by Cedric Gallant)\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"author\">By <a href=\"https:\/\/nunatsiaq.com\/author\/dominique-gene\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>\t Dominique Gen\u00e9 &#8211; Local Journalism Initiative Reporter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center in Kuujjuaq was targeted by a cyberattack last month.<\/p>\n<p>Officials made the announcement Wednesday in a news release, adding the attack was blocked upon detection.<\/p>\n<p>Files containing clinical and administrative information related to some people who use the health centre, and its employees, may have been stolen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cyberattack is a serious event that has resulted in the compromise of sensitive data,\u201d said Larry Watt, the centre\u2019s executive director, in the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll necessary measures are being taken to secure the systems, support the investigation and support those affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The release does not specify when exactly the attack occurred or how long the system was compromised before detection.
