It was Ullmark\u2019s first shutout of the season and 13th of his NHL career.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally good, really confident, really calm,\u201d Ottawa center Tim Stutzle<\/a> said of Ullmark. \u201cReally fun to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brady Tkachuk<\/a> scored twice, Drake Batherson<\/a> had two assists, and David Perron<\/a> and Claude Giroux<\/a> also scored for the Senators (16-13-4), who are 3-1-0 in their past four games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guys were hounding pucks down low, they\u2019re getting it deep, they\u2019re staying patient, they don\u2019t get frustrated,\u201d Ullmark said. \u201cYou see it there in the second as well when their goalie\u2019s doing a terrific job of keeping them in it. I mean, it could\u2019ve been five, six, seven goals against there with the way we were playing and the opportunities that we got.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arturs Silovs<\/a> made 22 saves for the Penguins (14-10-9), who are 0-3-4 during their skid.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, they were pressuring hard,\u201d Pittsburgh coach Dan Muse said of Ottawa. \u201cI just think some of the support there to be able to relieve some of that pressure, it wasn\u2019t consistent enough. We were spending too much time there in the D-zone and then I think even when we got onto the offensive side of the ice, we could\u2019ve done some things to extend that time more than we did.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Penguins’ last win came on Dec. 4, when they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to grind it out,\u201d Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang<\/a> said. \u201cTry to play a team game. Obviously, right now, it\u2019s not a great feeling, but we have to stick together and battle it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tkachuk scored on the power play to give the Senators a 1-0 lead at 2:16 of the first period. He finished on a behind-the-back pass from Batherson at the edge of the crease.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery guy played hard to play against,\u201d Tkachuk said of his teammates. \u201cWe didn\u2019t give up too much. Of course, in a game, you\u2019re going to give up chances, but I felt like we limited a lot of chances on the inside.
