\n\tThe first guests have checked into The White Lotus<\/a> season four.<\/p>\n

\n\tMike White\u2019s HBO drama has cast Alexander Ludwig<\/a> (Vikings) and AJ Michalka<\/a> (The Goldbergs) for the fourth season, which will film in France<\/a>. Season four will \u201cfollow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week,\u201d per HBO.<\/p>\n

\n\tDon\u2019t give away too much now, guys.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe White Lotus season four is executive produced by White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine. White, the show\u2019s creator, directs and writes the series.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor quite a while there, where The White Lotus season four would be set was kept as quiet as possible. The French connection was not officially confirmed until Nov. 20.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s going to be in France,\u201d HBO chief Casey Bloys told a group of reporters, including The Hollywood Reporter, in November. \u201cMike [White] is writing and just starting.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBloys added at the time that White was \u201cvery, very early\u201d in the casting process. A month later, we\u2019ve got our first results of that labor.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe season four location had been teased since season three ended \u2014 before that, actually.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite \u201cjust wouldn\u2019t want to be in the cold,\u201d\u00a0Bernad told\u00a0THR\u00a0as part of a\u00a0White Lotus\u00a0cover story<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the season three finale. \u201cHe hates it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd on the official\u00a0White Lotus\u00a0podcast after the season three finale, White hinted at a change from the beachside resorts of the past three seasons in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand, respectively. He said he\u2019d \u201cwant to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s going for full-on city lights \u2014 White has previously said that a setting in Paris would feel \u201clike a cop-out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the\u00a0red carpet for the 2025 Emmys<\/a>, season three actress Parker Posey said White wasn\u2019t in attendance because he was in the south of France, which is \u201cwhere season four\u2019s gonna be.\u201d\u00a0Speaking about those remarks to\u00a0THR\u00a0after the ceremony<\/a>, Bloys joked, \u201cWell, if she said it, I will have to agree with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBernad also\u00a0told\u00a0THR\u00a0over the summer<\/a>\u00a0that although he couldn\u2019t share anything specific about season four, he was \u201cvery excited for what Mike is working on and thinking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think it\u2019s going to speak to culture in a way that [\u2026] is going to be relevant,\u201d Bernad said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it\u2019s going, and it\u2019s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four.\u201d<\/p>\n
