Reigning CFL Outstanding Lineman of the Year, Jermarcus Hardrick, celebrated a full-circle season in 2025. From a career-threatening injury in 2024 to working his way back to the top of the game, there were some significant milestones and accomplishments for the Batesville, Mississippi, native.<\/p>\n
If you look at his career as a whole, it\u2019s also been a full circle as his first start in the CFL came against his current head coach, Corey Mace and the Calgary Stampeders.<\/p>\n
“Oh, we got to know each other pretty good. I respect him, respect that guy. 2014 was my first year, so that defence I was going against, I didn’t know anything about. I look back at it as one of the good teams, well, one of the great teams that won the Grey Cup.”<\/p>\n
“I think my first game, I didn’t even know 12 people were on the field. I was just playing. Dan Dorazio told me, ‘Block the guy in front of me, we’ll figure it out later.’ I think I showed up on a Tuesday and told him I was going to be on the practice squad. Friday, I said, ‘Hey, you’re playing.’ I just got there. I didn’t know any rules. I knew the yard was off. Dan DeRozio stayed up with me all night, and here we are today.”<\/p>\n
