The Atlanta Braves<\/a> are bringing aboard a right-handed pitcher with plenty of MLB experience.<\/p>\n

According to MLB Trade Rumors<\/a>, Elieser Hernandez has signed a minor-league contract with the Braves.<\/p>\n

Hernandez most recently pitched in the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>‘ organization, although he didn’t make it to the majors, throwing all his 2025 innings for them at Triple-A Buffalo.<\/p>\n

That came on the back of a solid stint in the KBO, where he had a 4.14 ERA and an above average strikeout rate.<\/p>\n

Hernandez broke into the majors with the Miami Marlins<\/a> from 2018 through 2022. He had 5.04 ERA with the Marlins.<\/p>\n

He was then sent to the New York Mets<\/a>, although injuries kept him off the mound.<\/p>\n

Hernandez spent 2024 between the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> and Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>, and that’s when he headed to free agency to pitch for the LG Twins in Korea.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays signed him midway through 2025, but he struggled to a 7.91 ERA at Triple-A.<\/p>\n

Hernandez has a career 5.10 ERA in the major leagues.<\/p>\n

He has struck out 8.5 batters per nine innings in the majors and walked just 2.9 batters per nine, not a terrible ratio. But his 2.2 home runs allowed per nine innings have been his undoing.<\/p>\n

For Hernandez to make an impact in Atlanta, he’ll have to limit home runs.<\/p>\n
