I mean there is no way that Hogan is returning with the Bombers as the offensive coordinator; is there?

It seems to be a no-brainer that the Bombers will not bring back Hogan as their offensive coordinator…they have already been been interviewing others for that spot. And even Bomber players were visibly frustrated with the offensive play calling.

And while the Bombers have not hired anyone else for that position, what they have done is very telling. The Bombers have managed to re-sign Brady Oliveira (a guy who was not impressed in the least in the way that he was utilized in 2025). And now the Bombers have resigned Demski to a 2 year deal.

Demski
Demski is no longer a young man (at least in terms of a players’ age). At 32 years of age, Nic Demski still has it. On September 9th I wrote, “Maybe it looks good that Demski is in the top 10 in both categories (receiving yards and recieving touchdowns)…but that should actually be troubling as he is the only Bomber player in the top 10. Where are the big name receivers that the Bomber have? To find the next Bomber in receiving yards you have to go all the way to the 17th spot to find Wheatfall, and then to the 34th spot to find Oliveira!”

Demski, would end the 2025 season with the 11th most receiving yards, and the 8th most receiving touchdowns.

About Demski, Ed Tait reports, ““Early on in my career, I was always athletic enough and being able to be a playmaker and all that good stuff, but I never was a holistic pro,” he said Friday in a conference call with local media. “Being in the film room, being in the weight room, taking care of my body, getting extra treatment, all that good stuff.

“Honestly, until I came to Winnipeg and kind of saw how everyone else was doing it in front of me, to see them get into their routines and see how they handled their bodies and kind of expanded their football IQ, they definitely led the way for me for that. I followed the path and it’s brought me here.

“To me, just to see the success that I’ve had, the relationship with Zach (Collaros), and the relationship with the different coaches that have been around me and everybody giving me their wisdom and whatnot I feel like I can even take my game to a higher level. I’m really excited about that.”

Demski’s 2025 season saw him finish with 67 receptions for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 regular-season games, earning him a spot on the CFL West Division All-Star Team for a fifth straight year. In the process, he moved into seventh place on the club’s all-time receiving yardage list and now sits at 5,560 as a Blue Bomber – trailing only Milt Stegall (15,153), James Murphy (9,036), Joe Poplawski (8,341), Terrence Edwards (7,200), Rick House (6,266) and Perry Tuttle (5.817). And of that total as a Blue Bomber, 3,037 yards have come over the last three years, along with 19 touchdowns.”

Offensive Woes
But still troubling for the Bombers is that you have to go all the way to the 30th spot to find their next leading receiver, Wheatfall (which means the Bombers defence got worse since early September when Wheatfall was in 17th spot). Sure Wheatfall played 16 games, not 18…but many of the players ahead of Wheatfall played as many or less games than he did. That should not be a surprise as the Bombers finished last in passing yards and seventh in scoring.

New Offensive Coordinator?
While it could be quickly overlooked, in Ed Tait’s artcile he said, “But changes are coming and with quarterback Zach Collaros under contract for 2026 and teammates like Brady Oliveira and Pokey Wilson having recently signed extensions as well — along with head coach Mike O’Shea and GM Kyle Walters — that frustration is slowly morphing into excitement already for next season.”

And while Tait did not elaborate on what the changes were that are coming, in context of the whole article, it sure sounds like changes at offensive coordinator.

Paul Friesen reports; Tommy Condell’s hiring to replace Jason Hogan hasn’t been announced, yet. But that doesn’t stop players like receiver Nic Demski from imagining what the change might be like, come training camp in May. “It would be fun to work with him if that is the case,” Demski said on Friday. “I speculate as much as you guys. I’m just waiting to see a confirmation, but I’m pumped up to see what that door could open.” “Sources around the league have confirmed the hiring is imminent.”

Whether or not Hogan is under contract with Winnipeg for next year remains a mystery as head coach Mike O’Shea declined to address the status of his assistants. If I were the Bombers I would release Hogan, or demote him to the running backs coach…but whatever the Bombers decide to do, time will tell.

What do you think?
