{"id":359383,"date":"2025-12-21T08:31:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-21T08:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/359383\/"},"modified":"2025-12-21T08:31:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T08:31:11","slug":"lewis-hamilton-ferrari-f1-replacement-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/359383\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis Hamilton Ferrari F1 replacement &#8216;identified&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-teams\/ferrari\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ferrari<\/a> have already identified a replacement for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/lewis-hamilton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> according to the German media, naming a current star on the F1 grid. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nHigh expectations were placed on the shoulders of the seven-time world champion when he joined Ferrari, which have stood in stark contrast to his miserable first season. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nNow, all focus has turned to 2026 with team principal <a title=\"Fred Vasseur maintaining confidence in Hamilton and implementing changes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-news\/1071161\/ferrari-f1-boss-fred-vasseur-lewis-hamilton-reshuffle-in-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fred Vasseur maintaining confidence in Hamilton and implementing changes<\/a> to help his recovery process into the new regulations. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nBehind the scenes however, Ferrari management are reportedly preparing for life after Hamilton with German publication <a title=\"Bild\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bild.de\/sport\/mehr-sport\/als-hamilton-nachfolger-formel-1-star-ganz-oben-auf-ferrari-liste-6944ffaf6376e847b7db4ab7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bild<\/a> claiming that a successor has already been chosen as his replacement. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>Who should replace Hamilton at Ferrari?<\/p>\n<p>\nThe report continues that British driver and <a title=\"Haas star Ollie Bearman is at the top of Ferrari&#039;s shortlist\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-news\/1067691\/the-next-lewis-hamilton-is-ollie-bearman-ferrari-f1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Haas star Ollie Bearman is at the top of Ferrari&#8217;s shortlist<\/a>, after a solid rookie season in 2025. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nBearman first joined the Ferrari driver academy in 2022, substituting for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/carlos-sainz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Sainz<\/a> at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix which was enough for teams to take notice and earn him a seat for 2025. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nOn the one hand, the Brit&#8217;s rookie season has been littered with errors and will remain two points away from a race ban until May 2026.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nDespite his loose interpretation of the regulations on occasion, Bearman has outclassed experienced team-mate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-drivers\/esteban-ocon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Esteban Ocon<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/en\/f1-teams\/haas\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Haas<\/a> and finished three points ahead of him in the standings. The 20-year-old came into his own towards the end of the season, where he enjoyed a string of top 10 finishes for five consecutive races. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nYet, the 2026 season will be Bearman&#8217;s first proper test, no longer able to fall back on the excuse of being a rookie.
