A pain ointment is being recalled due to dangers to children. Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment could be life-threatening for children, if they swallowed its packaging, federal officials say.<\/p>\n
Plantimex Distributors is recalling about 50,000 containers of the popular product after the ointment container\u2019s lid failed child-resistent safety requirements, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. <\/p>\n
\u201cConsumers should immediately secure the recalled ointment jars out of the sight and reach of children and contact Plantimex to receive a free replacement lid. Once the product is secured with the replacement lid, consumers can use the product, as directed,\u201d the agency stated on its website. <\/a><\/p>\n The product has a numbing agent called lidocaine that must be sold in packaging safe for children. The ointment comes in bright orange jars which have a twist off lid. They were sold at Walmart and Target nationwide, in addition to Target.com<\/a>, between April of 2024 and October of this year. Only jars with the UPC code 860006498115 are recalled. <\/p>\n
