Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has expressed confidence that Max Verstappen will not opt to strike a partnership with another team in F1 before his retirement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Verstappen’s F1 future was the subject of scrutiny for the opening half of the 2025 campaign when the team was in an uncompetitive position compared to runaway leaders McLaren.<\/p>\n
The Dutchman was heavily linked with a move to Mercedes as murmurings of performance clauses placed doubt over his future within Red Bull.<\/p>\n
However, Verstappen asserted after the summer break that he would remain put for 2026 before enjoying an uptick in form, which left him agonisingly close to claiming a fifth F1 title.<\/p>\n
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Mintzlaff highlighted Verstappen will take confidence in Red Bull’s structure following its mid-season turnaround in form this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is important to say is that I am not afraid of any performance clause in his contract,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is most important for an athlete is to see that everyone in the team gives everything for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I think Max has been impressed by the way the results and the atmosphere in the team have turned this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Verstappen has a contract in place with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season, however the 28-year-old has admitted he could opt to walk away from the sport early if he does not enjoy the new cycle of technical regulations.<\/p>\n
Mintzlaff highlighted Red Bull must ensure it is operating with a competitive car in order to maintain Verstappen – but insisted he does not believe the four-time champion will jump ship to a rival team.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course Max always wants to win and have the best car possible, but so do we,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs long as Max feels we are working on that and doing everything we can, I think he will stay loyal to us.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHe also sees how much we have invested in our own engine. Remember we are an energy drink brand and what a unique step this is.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel there is a huge mutual appreciation and loyalty.
