{"id":36043,"date":"2025-07-31T04:20:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T04:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/36043\/"},"modified":"2025-07-31T04:20:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T04:20:08","slug":"toronto-star-bestseller-for-july-30-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/36043\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto Star bestseller for July 30, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Death comes for us all and when it does, if you\u2019re famous, it might give you a posthumous push onto the bestseller lists.<\/p>\n<p>Such is the case this week for \u201cI Am Ozzy,\u201d the 2011 memoir that heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/entertainment\/music\/ozzy-osbourne-legendary-heavy-metal-singer-and-black-sabbath-frontman-dies-at-76\/article_058e750d-b2a6-4216-b7fa-a70dfdd58d32.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">who died last week at age 76<\/a> \u2014 wrote with Chris Ayres about his journey from poverty in Birmingham, England, to rock \u2019n\u2019 roll stardom and excess. It comes in at No. 9 on the original non-fiction list.<\/p>\n<p>In the book, Osbourne wrote: \u201cPeople ask me how come I\u2019m still alive, and I don\u2019t know what to say. When I was growing up, if you\u2019d have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of sixty\u00a0\u2026 I wouldn\u2019t have put money on me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though he was known as the Prince of Darkness, my image of him, not being a heavy metal aficionado, will forever be the befuddled and funny patriarch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/entertainment\/music\/why-ozzy-osbourne-was-the-prince-not-just-of-darkness-but-of-pop-culture\/article_0718db92-2d0b-4707-b6cd-d6ca10fb5283.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reality TV series \u201cThe Osbournes.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of reality TV, Scheana Shay, a star of 11-season-and-counting juggernaut \u201cVanderpump Rules,\u201d is telling her side of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/entertainment\/scheana-shay-of-vanderpump-rules-talks-scandoval-in-toronto-i-was-duped-we-all-were\/article_206c6f25-0064-5b26-af98-2f33d991ed46.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the show\u2019s juicy drama<\/a> in memoir \u201cMy Good Side,\u201d which joins the original non-fiction list at No. 5. According to the book blurb, Shay joined \u201cVanderpump\u201d as a pathway to an acting career and was instead turned into a reality TV villain.<\/p>\n<p>TV is also having an impact on the children\u2019s and young adult list.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Summer I Turned Pretty,\u201d the YA romance by Jenny Han that was made into a Prime Video series, rejoined the list around the same time the show\u2019s third season began streaming. It\u2019s now got company in Han\u2019s \u201cWe\u2019ll Always Have Summer,\u201d the third book in her \u201cSummer\u201d trilogy. Meanwhile, \u201cWe Were Liars\u201d by E.
