A new Batman<\/a> movie is now available to stream on HBO Max<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With there being no shortage of Batman movies, TV shows, comics, and other related media, a new animated film featuring the Dark Knight \u2014 albeit a Dark Knight from a different universe \u2014 was released this past September by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What Batman movie is now streaming on HBO Max?<\/p>\n

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires<\/a> is now available to stream on the HBO Max streaming service.<\/p>\n

The official synopsis reads, \u201cIn a bold reimagining of the Batman legend set in the Aztec empire, a young Aztec boy escapes to Tenochtitl\u00e1n after his father is murdered by Spanish conquistadors. There, he trains in the temple of the bat god Tzinacan and develops weaponry to avenge his father\u2019s death. Along the way, he encounters familiar figures like Jaguar Woman and the conquistador Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Juan Meza-Le\u00f3n, the voice cast of Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires includes Horacio Garc\u00eda Rojas as Yohualli Coatl\/Batman, Omar Chaparro as Yoka\/Joker, \u00c1lvaro Morte as Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s\/Two-Face, and more.<\/p>\n

Coming Soon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese said in a review<\/a> for the Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires 4K, \u201cThe coolest aspect of Aztec Batman is getting to see the Aztec culture and historical figures blended with Batman characters. For example, the Spanish conquistador Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s fittingly becomes Two-Face. From Azrael and Poison Ivy to Catwoman and Joker, we see several new versions of DC<\/a> characters throughout.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSadly, the one that doesn\u2019t fully hit the mark is the new Batman, as Yohualli Coatl never displays any sort of detective quality, nor do we see much of an inner conflict. A tease at the end sets up a sequel, and it doesn\u2019t end on a very satisfying note, so hopefully some of this will be explored more in a sequel. So, while it doesn\u2019t all hit the mark, I\u2019m glad DC tried something different.\u201d<\/p>\n
