The 6-foot-1, 287-pound product from Glenwood, Iowa, has appeared in 30 games over three seasons, recording 26 tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, he had 13 defensive tackles and two sacks. He was a key part of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cjme.com\/2025\/07\/08\/saskatchewan-roughriders-mike-rose-only-focused-on-the-present\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> team\u2019s rushing defence<\/a> that finished as the best in the CFL. The team only surrendered 76 yards per game.<\/p>\n<p>He played five collegiate seasons (2018-22) at South Dakota State University. In 66 games for the Jackrabbits, he recorded 137 tackles, 42.5 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, two pass knockdowns, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders was named a team captain and earned Associated Press FCS All-America First-Team honours in 2022. He helped the team win the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Football Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders attended rookie camp with the New York Giants following the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent 2023 training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles and played in one pre-season game.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s the latest player to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cjme.com\/2025\/12\/17\/roughriders-sign-running-back-thomas-bertrand-hudon-to-one-year-extension\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sign an extension<\/a> with Saskatchewan. In 2025, the Riders finished at the top of the CFL standings with a 12-6 record.
