That goodness, however, comes at a high price, which mostly seems to go into paying off Dyson’s R&D department. So it’s fantastic news that the latest in Dyson haircare has seen some seriously significant price drops for Boxing Day.

To answer the original question, though, it’s a definite yes from me if you can make your budget stretch.

The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer started it all, releasing as Dyson’s first haircare device in 2012, and it’s a testament to how good it is that it’s still popular in 2025, although the model sold now has been upgraded from the original. It offers supremely speedy drying times, convenient magnetic attachments and sleek results.

Dyson followed it up with the newer Supersonic Nural, which not only won a coveted TechRadar Product of the Year Award in 2024, but is one of the best hair dryers available. It packs more smart features like Scalp Protection and the energy-saving low power mode. If you can find it for under the AU$500 mark, they might well be worth it.

The Dyson Airwrap was a hugely popular and virally successful multi-styler, with the brand releasing multiple new editions to accommodate different hair types and lengths. With the OG model now sunsetted, the Dyson Airwrap i.d. is gaining traction. While the overall design and the key specs remain the same in the new edition, the i.d. works with a companion app and has three new attachment options (which you’ll need to purchase separately, by the way).

Some devices such the Dyson Airstrait is certainly innovative, but won’t be a top pick for everyone. It works well for some specific hair types, typically medium thickness straighter or wavy hair that isn’t too porous, but otherwise might not do the job as well as conventional ceramic plates. At least it saves you time by working on wet hair. Still, the lofty price tag makes it inferior to market-leading, traditional straighteners.

Long story short: if you’re willing to pay a premium for styling your hair at home, I would easily recommend a Dyson haircare tool. I have tried plenty of dupes and none come close to what the Dyson products can do. They do come close, though, and could save you a lot of cash if you don’t necessarily need perfection.

2025-12-23T05:30:16.646Z
AirPods Pro 3 deal alert – now AU$379

I’ve been holding out for a good deal on the AirPods Pro 3 and I’m tempted to bite the dust, thanks to a 12% discount on Amazon. This is the first significant offer we’ve seen on Apple’s latest noise-cancelling buds – although it was previous available for around AU$385 from Amazon Japan and Kogan.

This offer – now AU$379 – is direct from Amazon AU and if you don’t use the AirPods Pro 2 already, would be a fantastic option if you’re keen on a new set of earbuds to pair with your iPhone (or iPad or MacBook).

Personally, I think the heart-rate monitor is superfluous, but some users might find it handy. They’re all powerful, excellent cleaning machines. However, Dysons are expensive, even when discounted, so if you’re willing to take a different route, consider a Shark instead – trust me when I say they have big bites without the high price tags and they’re usually steeply discounted.

Take the base model Shark PowerDetect Cordless, which retails for AU$849, is now under AU$400 from a few retailers. Here’s why:

You can listen to audiobooks via paired Bluetooth headphones or earbuds, although the only audiobooks you can play on a Kobo are those you purchase from the Kobo Store or ‘borrow’ as part of your Kobo Plus subscriptionHigher-end Kobo ereaders have 32GB of storage by default – so getting the 7-inch Kobo Libra Colour with more features might well be the better buy than the Kindle Paperwhite or the Kindle ColorsoftBaked-in OverDrive support means you can borrow digital books from a local public library that supports this platform and, at the time of writing, many Aussie libraries do (borrowing library books on a Kindle is only available in the US)A cleaner UX makes a Kobo easier to master, and the Kindle homepage can look cluttered in comparisonIt’s extremely easy to sideload ebooks in different file formats on a Kobo – just use a USB-C cable plugged into your computer. Being part of the Vertuo lineup, it uses a wider range of pods that can brew a range of coffee sizes, from single espresso all the way up to a full mug.

This machine has been one of our faves here at TechRadar ever since it launched in 2023, with a couple of my colleagues using it themselves at home and none have any complaints. So, is it worth the extra cost?

I’d probably say it’s not worth paying full price, but when it’s on sale, like right now for just AU$155, it’s definitely worth considering.

One of the fastest-ever streaming media player, the Amazon Fire TV Cube combines all the benefits of a streaming device with Alexa support while also being a smart speaker to help you control your connected devices. If you’re looking to capitalise on Boxing Day sales in Australia, there are still some excellent ways to score those last-minute deals before Christmas day.

1. Shop on Amazon or Kogan
Amazon is the easiest option here but please note that at this time, even metro areas that are typically able to get same-day delivery may not be able to do so, depending on the product you’re after. There are still, however, many items with same- or next-day delivery on Amazon. Kogan, too, is offering expedited delivery at this time.

2. Consider same- or next-day delivery options
Some stores, like JB Hi-Fi, offer on-demand delivery through services such as Uber. This can be a lifesaver if you find a deal you love and want it delivered straight to your door without waiting. JB Hi-Fi offers two types of Uber deliveries in metro areas:
ASAP Delivery: Your order will be delivered within 90 minutes to 2 hours of placing it.
Scheduled Delivery: If available, you can select a 2-hour delivery window during the store’s operating hours.

Eligibility: Orders must be placed within 20km of a store offering Uber delivery. Available 7 days a week from store opening until 2 hours before closing time.

3. Opt for in-store pickup or click-and-collect

The smartest move, if you spot a deal on our curated Boxing Day sales page, is to order online for in-store pickup. Why? This ensures the item is in stock before you brave the retail madness. Plus, your order will be ready and waiting for you to collect, saving you time and stress. Most major retailers offer this option, making it an ideal way to shop.

What to do about Amazon bargains
If the deal you’ve spotted is on Amazon but delivery isn’t feasible, don’t give up. Check physical stores like JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys for the same product. These retailers often match or closely align with Amazon’s pricing, especially during major sales events like Boxing Day. You might just find the same item for a comparable price (or less if The Good Guys will price beat) and with the added bonus of immediate availability.

2025-12-22T00:30:53.627Z
An easy Pill to swallow

I was very excited when the new Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker launched in 2024, but I held off for a discount. Sadly, it never saw one, even during Black Friday or Boxing Day last year, but it looks like JB Hi-Fi has permanently dropped the ticket price.

That means this lovely little Bluetooth speaker can now be had for just AU$179 in all colours. I haven’t listed it as a deal on this page as this seems to be its standard price now.

The updated model has better sound, better battery and better dust- and waterproofing too. The only thing that could stop some users from swallowing this tasty Pill is the lack of an equaliser, so you’re stuck with the sound it makes. Which, let me tell you, is good. Despite that, I’m seeing some extraordinarily good discounts, many of which are better than what we saw during Black Friday.

So join me on me on my hunt for the best Boxing Day deals to be had – these may not quite make it in time for Christmas, but any back-to-school purchases you need to make or something to get your New Year resolutions started are definitely worth picking up now.

Please follow our community guidelines.”>

You must confirm your public display name before commenting

Please logout and then login again, you will then be prompted to enter your display name.

Logout

Refresh 2025-12-23T07:25:22.793Z (Image credit: Future) (Image credit: Dyson) I may not have reviewed every single product in Dyson’s…

[447
703,49,48,82
0":"post-363454","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-boxing","8":"tag-boxing","9":"tag-ca","10":"tag-canada","11":"tag-sports
["GET
