This one-bedroom unit without a parking spot is in a four-year-old high-rise siding onto Yonge Street, about a block north of Yonge Eglinton Centre and Eglinton subway station. Its asking price was slowly lowered from the $500,000s to the $400,000s this year, in stark contrast to similar models that had sold in the $600,000s in previous years. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were following the market, and as prices continued to decline, we had to adjust our approach,\u201d said agent Ira Jelinek.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis type of property, back in the day at the height of the market, traded for $640,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

High inventory levels in the area added to the challenge of drawing serious buyers. The seller rejected an early offer but negotiated a $415,000 deal from a new bidder in November. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a tough market for this type of property today,\u201d Mr. Jelinek said. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut we always had consistent showings. There was no lack of buyers looking at Yonge and Eglinton for a one-bedroom unit to live in.\u201d<\/p>\n
