\n\tThe upcoming feature The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will bypass a theatrical debut in theaters in October 2026 and premiere exclusively on Paramount+ as the streamer becomes the exclusive home of all animated content from Avatar Studios, the creative force behind the beloved and acclaimed Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDitto for the new series Avatar: Seven Havens. Both animated projects are being produced by Avatar Studios, which was formed in 2021 under Nickelodeon as a division designed to create a new, ever-growing universe based on the worlds of\u00a0Avatar\u00a0and subsequent series,\u00a0The Legend of Korra.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere\u2019s more on the Legend of Aang front: Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Peta Sergeant, Freida Pinto and Ke Huy Quan have joined previously announced castmembers Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Dionne Quan, Rom\u00e1n Zaragoza and Steven Yeun.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Avatar Universe has captivated audiences for two decades, and Paramount+ is proud to be the exclusive streaming home for its beloved animated incarnation,\u201d said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+. \u201cThe Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender\u00a0and\u00a0Avatar: Seven Havens\u00a0represent the next evolution of storytelling from Avatar Studios \u2014 bringing together remarkable talent both in front of and behind the camera to deliver the epic adventures and emotional depth fans have come to expect,\u201d she said. \u201cThese additions, alongside\u00a0The Legend of Korra\u00a0and the original series, solidify Paramount+ as the destination for the animated Avatar Universe.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new leadership at Paramount+ have good reason to be be bullish: in 2000, the animated original commanded the #1 spot on Netflix\u2019s daily Top 10 for 61 consecutive days, a record at the time for a non-Netflix original (Netflix now airs its own live-action Airbender).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Last Airbender\u00a0originally ran on Nick from 2005 to 2008, and was set in a world of warring nation states where people, known as \u201cbenders,\u201d can manipulate the four elements of earth, fire, wind and water. The series has received the Peabody Award, a Primetime Emmy, Annie Awards and Genesis Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the film adaptation<\/a>, the world\u2019s last Airbender earns of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, he embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve. (The movie\u2019s name is described as a working.)<\/p>\n

\n\tSeven Havens, set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, follows a young Earthbender who discovers she\u2019s the new Avatar after Korra\u2014but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity\u2019s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization\u2019s last strongholds collapse.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by Nickelodeon Animation,\u00a0Seven Havens\u00a0consists of 26 episodes<\/a> divided between Book 1 (13 half-hour episodes) and Book 2 (13 half-hour episodes).DiMartino and Konietzko serve as co-creators and executive producers. Ethan Spaulding is executive producer, and Sehaj Sethi is co-executive producer.<\/p>\n
