The Stamps suffered their first loss of the season during a wet-and-windy affair at McMahon Stadium Saturday.<\/p>\n
With the Red and White trailing 13-12 in the fourth quarter, the visiting Ottawa Redblacks scored the decisive major in a game that featured a torrential downpour for much of the match.<\/p>\n
Calgary had opened the season with a win over Hamilton at home and downed Toronto on the road.<\/p>\n

Stamps returner Eno Benjamin took the opening kickoff 18 yards before losing his footing and going down.<\/p>\n
Adams Jr. then hooked up with Jalen Philpot on a short two-yard pass before having his second attempt batted down, leading to a punt.<\/p>\n
Dustin Crum \u2013 the third starting quarterback for Ottawa in as many games \u2013 led the Redblacks on a 10-play, 52-yard drive, 30 of those yards coming via the Ottawa pivot\u2019s legs on three rushes, that culminated in a 34-yard field-goal by Lewis Ward.<\/p>\n
Mills had a pair of runs for 13 yards on a drive that was stalled with a sack on Adams Jr, leading to a 43-yard attempt by Paredes that went wide right.<\/p>\n
Devonte Dedmon ran it out but Ottawa was called for a hold, pinning them on their one-yard line.<\/p>\n
That would lead to a Jaylon Hutchings sack on Crum for a safety to get Calgary on the board with 4:33 to go in the opening quarter.<\/p>\n
Calgary went for it on a deep third-and-three but Adams Jr.\u2019s TD pass attempt to Barnes \u2013 who he hit on the opening play of the drive on a 27-yard toss \u2013 was incomplete, leading to the turnover on downs with Ottawa starting on their own seven-yard line.<\/p>\n
The Stamps were stopped on a third-and-goal at the one-yard line after a long drive in the second quarter, Mills racking up 50 yards as they marched down field, but backup QB P.J. Walker stopped as he tried to run the ball in.<\/p>\n
Redblacks receiver Geno Lewis dropped a pass in the endzone leading to a 29-yard field goal from Ward in the final minute of the half.<\/p>\n
The second half was all about kicks.<\/p>\n
After a two-and-out to start the third quarter, Stamps punter Fraser Masin booted a low 77-yard punt for a rouge.<\/p>\n
Ward would then kicked a 27-yarder to make it a six-point lead for the visitors.<\/p>\n
Paredes, though, would answer back on the next Stamps possession with a long 42-yard field-goal of his own.<\/p>\n
The back-and-forth continued, Ward adding another three points with 3:40 to go in the quarter.<\/p>\n
Calgary got back within three when Paredes nailed a 51-yarder.<\/p>\n
