The Las Vegas Raiders have a lot of needs heading into the offseason, including wide receiver.

The Raiders don’t have a true top receiver, or even a strong second option. For that reason, they were recently named by Moe Moton of Bleacher Report as a top potential landing spot for Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, who was named to his first Pro Bowl this season.

The Cowboys are widely expected to use the franchise tag to retain Pickens or sign him to a new deal over the offseason, but if they don’t, others teams would get an opportunity to sign him, including Las Vegas.

“Whether it’s Geno Smith, another bridge-gap veteran or a rookie under center, the Raiders need an established receiver to pose a consistent threat to defenses through the air,” Moton wrote. “According to Over the Cap, the Raiders are projected to have the second-most cap space at around $105 million. Pickens could earn a hefty annual salary and serve as a primary option in the Raiders’ aerial attack.”

While some questions remain when it comes to Pickens in terms of him being the type of guy you want to make a major financial investment in, but the production can’t be denied. Pickens has 1,342 yards and nine touchdowns this season, and the Cowboys still have two games remaining. Dating back to his days in Pittsburgh, Pickens has never had below 800 receiving yards in a season.

So, the market will be there if Dallas lets him walk. When it comes to the Raiders, though, signing a star wide receiver probably isn’t the team’s top priority. First, they need to decide if they’re going to move forward with Pete Carroll as head coach and they also have to figure out what they’re going to do at the quarterback position.

Once those things are figured out, perhaps the Raiders could look to add a weapon like Pickens, but simply adding a shiny new toy to the wide receiver room will do little to address the deeper issues with the team.

Raiders named top landing spot for 2025 NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver originally appeared on The Sporting News.…

[436
49,48,1721,1768,1750,1483,1736,156444,514,4847,82,29822,12486,31568
post-364665","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nfl","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-dallas-cowboys","tag-geno-smith","tag-george-pickens","tag-las-vegas","tag-las-vegas-raiders","tag-moe-moton","tag-nfl","tag-pittsburgh","tag-sports","tag-the-cowboys","tag-tom-brady","tag-wide-receiver
["GET
