Will Arnett finds rumors about a dysfunctional relationship with ex-wife Amy Poehler \u201cf—ing hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arnett, 54, shared a few thoughts on navigating his post-divorce relationship with his comedy star ex in a new interview with Rolling Stone<\/a>. \u201cPeople think that they know\u201d what the relationship is like between the former couple, who share two sons, Archibald \u201cArchie\u201d Arnett, 16, and Abel James Arnett, 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve read so many opinions people have,\u201d the Arrested Development star said. \u201cIt\u2019s f—ing hilarious to me how much s— is just made up, and they have zero idea. It\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, you think you know what my life is?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

The only truly alarming thing about Poehler, 53, being a surprise guest on his Smartless podcast earlier this year, which he hosts with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, was that their sons managed to keep it a secret from him. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThere aren\u2019t many people I speak to more than I speak to her,\u201d he said at the end of Poehler\u2019s episode in April, \u201cwhich is weird because it, you know what I mean? But it\u2019s great. I feel really lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n

Poehler and Arnett were married for nine years, from 2003 until their separation in 2012. Their divorce was finalized four years later in 2016. Poehler is now dating former New York Times editor turned podcast executive Joel Lovell, with whom she made her red carpet debut at the Oscars this year. <\/p>\n

Arnett, who\u2019s been busy promoting his first dramatic lead role in Is This Thing On?<\/a>, is dating supermodel Carolyn Murphy, 51. But the exes described a pleasant co-parenting relationship during Poehler\u2019s Smartless appearance. <\/p>\n

Bateman told Arnett on the show, \u201cThe fact that you guys not only have raised these two kids so well, but that your relationship is so great and healthy\u2014that you could do a f—ing one-hour podcast in front of millions of people and not have to fake anything. It\u2019s pretty admirable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arnett agreed, \u201cI am really proud of it, and of course, things take a minute because everybody\u2019s sort of adjusting to what it is. But I\u2019m also very proud, certainly as parents, of what we\u2019ve been able to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded on the show, \u201cShe\u2019s the person I go like, \u2018Hey, I\u2019m thinking about doing this,\u2019 or \u2018Hey,\u2019 whether it\u2019s life or work\u2026 I seek her counsel because it\u2019s important to me, because I trust her in that. She\u2019s awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n
