MONTREAL \u2013 Domenico Piazza<\/a><\/a> of the McGill University Redbirds has signed with the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks, the club announced Monday.
\u00a0
It marks the second stint with Edmonton for Piazza, a 6-foot-2, 294-pound offensive lineman from Mercier, Que., who was a fifth-round selection by Edmonton in the 2025 Canadian Football League Draft.\u00a0A training camp cut last June, Piazza returned to McGill for a fifth year to pursue a certificate in public relations and communications management after earning an arts degree in industrial relations the previous year.\u00a0

The 25-year-old\u00a0took over the snapping duties at centre in the 2025 intercollegiate season and merited All-Canadian first-team honours after earning second-team status as an offensive guard in 2024.

A co-captain with the Redbirds on this year’s squad, he started every week and registered a fumble recovery in the season-opening game against Sherbrooke.\u00a0 A measure of consistency, Piazza started in all 40 regular season games over his five seasons at McGill, including 25 at left tackle, eight at centre and seven at left guard.<\/p>\n
