With deep ties to the NFL as the wife and daughter of former players, respectively, the dynamic duo understand the hustle and bustle of the lifestyle\u00a0and the oftentimes unpredictable trajectories of professional football families, having experienced it all themselves.\n<\/p>\n
That’s why the strangers-turned-coworkers teamed up to found Elliott Tate Design<\/a>, an interiors firm that’s become a go-to for wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of players in the league who are looking for a trusted \u2014 and stylish! \u2014 eye to create a place they can call home no matter the circumstances.\n<\/p>\n Taylor Bates (left) and Tiffany Compton (right) of Elliott Tate Design.<\/p>\n Windett Photography<\/p>\n For a firm founded less than two years ago, Bates and Compton \u2014 who originally met on Instagram \u2014 have built an impressive client roster to date. Their non-stop bookings show just “how tight the WAG community is,” Compton when speaking with PEOPLE exclusively.\n<\/p>\n “When you’re in it, you’re in it and there comes a certain level of trust with that, so it has been incredible to see this community support my dreams and my passions,” continues Compton, whose now-retired husband played for seven NFL teams in 11 years.\n<\/p>\n Among their past clients are Carly and Wyatt Teller<\/a> (Cleveland Browns offensive lineman who was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft) and Emma and Ryan Kelly<\/a> (Minnesota Vikings center who was selected\u00a0by the\u00a0Indianapolis Colts in the 2016 NFL Draft).\n<\/p>\n Tiffany Compton with her Atlanta Falcon husband.<\/p>\n Tiffany Compton<\/p>\n “Kristin Juszczyk<\/a> is one of my biggest cheerleaders,” Compton says of San Fransisco 49ers Kyle Juszczyk<\/a>‘s wife, who also made a name for herself in the WAG style space<\/a>. “Her and Claire Kittle<\/a> [wife of San Francisco 49ers\u00a0tight end\u00a0George Kittle]\u00a0champion me all the time. They always share my designs and they’re always loving our content.”\n<\/p>\n “Our business was two months too young to make it with Julie Cousins<\/a>. She kept being like, ‘I wish I would’ve waited for you’!” Bates says of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins’ wife, who shares two sons<\/a> with the football star.\n<\/p>\n Compton adds, “We would love to work with them. All of those names come from the last six months alone, a noteworthy feat that makes Elliott Tate Design a hot commodity in the WAG world.\n<\/p>\n Aside from being a trusted team and well-known in the NFL community, Bates and Compton take pride in getting the job done FAST having “lived experience” for why that’s a must within their own football families.\n<\/p>\n “I understand what it’s like to go with a new team,” Compton tells PEOPLE. “My husband played for seven teams in 11 years, and so we bounced around here, there, everywhere. When you get the call that you are signing with a new team, you have to get things going quick.”\n<\/p>\n Tiffany Compton and Taylor Bates.<\/p>\n Elliott Tate Design<\/p>\n “So I knew that there was a market for this,” she says. “And we actually did that for Emma and Ryan Kelly. He was with the Colts forever… It took seven weeks from the day that I went to look at the home with her to furnishing the entire thing.”\n<\/p>\n The ladies point out how athletes are “a whole different world” when it comes to real estate, noting how many of them have houses around the city where their team is based and permanent residences perhaps out of state when they’re not in season.\n<\/p>\n Football players, in particular, are also built differently than the average non-athlete client that Elliott Tate Design takes into consideration when furnishing.\n<\/p>\n Ryan and Emma Kelly’s home interior by Elliott Tate Design.<\/p>\n Elliott Tate Design<\/p>\n “My dad and her husband both were offensive linemen, so they’re really, really big guys. So ironically we’re doing a lot of really big people’s houses,” Bates says. “Making sure the shoe depths in closets are deep enough for these size 15 shoes. The shoe rack has to be wide!”\n<\/p>\n Compton adds, “There are a lot of nuances like that when designing for athletes. When we source dining room chairs, we have to look at weight capacities. They have to be able to hold 400 pounds. They can’t have the really tight sides because their hips don’t fit in the size.”\n<\/p>\n “We have to make sure the clearances don’t drop because these guys are 6’7″, 6’8″. We don’t want them hitting their heads on a chandelier,” she says with a laugh. “The hyperbaric chamber has to go here and we need a spot for recovery band… all these things.”\n<\/p>\n Taylor Bates of Elliott Tate Design.<\/p>\n Elliott Tate Design<\/p>\n Elliott Tate Design prides itself on creating “livable luxury,” but also ensures that homes are “tailored to the people” and their respective needs. Some families have children, others have pets \u2014\u00a0and some have “requests we maybe can’t disclose,” jokes Bates.\n<\/p>\n Needless to say, Compton and Bates are having fun with their passion project-turned-bustling venture.
