While the Atlanta Braves<\/a> have been one of MLB’s most consistent teams over the years, this past season was a bit of a disaster. The club was bitten by the injury bug, making it hard for them to get anything going.<\/p>\n

They missed the postseason for the first time since the 2017 season, but there are hopes the club can return in 2026. They have a great foundation, but need to stay healthy and add another source of offensive power and a frontline starting pitcher.<\/p>\n

On the prospect side of things, the club is not ranked too high, but there are some names to be excited about. Cam Caminiti, a left-handed pitcher drafted in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft, sits atop the prospect rankings.<\/p>\n

Braves No. 13 prospect predicted to have a massive year in 2026<\/p>\n

While plenty of fans know the top prospects, there are some prospects outside of the top ten that fans may want to get familiar with. Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter<\/a> urges fans to keep an eye on the No. 13 prospect, John Gil.<\/p>\n

“Gil does not turn 20 years old until May 14, but he already has 145 games between Single-A and Double-A under his belt, putting him well ahead of the developmental curve. He hit .258\/.352\/.378 with 33 extra-base hits and 50 steals in 100 games at Single-A, and has looked the part of a future shortstop while also seeing some action at third base.”<\/p>\n

Despite not even turning 20 yet, the young slugger has already experienced well over 100 games in the minors.<\/p>\n

One thing that scouts love about Gil’s game is his speed. He is a game-changer on the basepaths, making opposing pitchers nervous when he gets on.<\/p>\n

Gil also has a great understanding of the strikezone and has shown the ability to make hard contact. If he continues to develop like he has been, he could be in for a really good 2026 season.<\/p>\n
