\n\tRob Reiner<\/a> and Michele Singer\u2019s deaths were shocking to fans<\/a>, but it appears the Los Angeles Police Department was familiar with the couple\u2019s Brentwood home.<\/p>\n

\n\tPolice records, obtained by the Daily Mail<\/a> show that cops were called to the family\u2019s home on at least six occasions between 2013 and 2025. According to the outlet, the reports note that the \u201ccalls for service\u201d involved mental health checks and possible domestic violence.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s been quite a few calls for service at the Reiner house,\u201d an LAPD insider told the Daily Mail. \u201cThe West LA division of LAPD was summoned to that home on many occasions.\u201d One particular incident on May 5, 2017, was for a \u201cbattery of family violence investigation,<\/a>\u201d although no further information was given about the event.<\/p>\n

\n\tStill, \u201c\u2018Brentwood is a fairly quiet neighborhood. You don\u2019t generally get a lot of calls for service at a home,\u201d the source said while noting that \u201cofficers had a recollection that they responded to the home on numerous occasions.\u201d The number of police calls to the Reiner home was considered \u201csignificant\u201d over the years.<\/p>\n

\n\tNick Reiner, who is the only suspect in the death of his parents, spoke up about his troubles during the promotional press tour of his 2015 film, Being Charlie. \u201cI was homeless in Maine. I was homeless in New Jersey. I was homeless in Texas,\u201d he explained to People<\/a> in 2016. \u201cI spent nights on the street. I spent weeks on the street. It was not fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the Dopey<\/a> podcast in 2018, he discussed how his addiction<\/a> often fueled his temper, and he \u201cwrecked\u201d his family\u2019s guest house in the process.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI went 10 rounds in my guest house,\u201d he said. \u201cI got totally spun out on uppers\u2014I think it was coke and something else\u2014and I was up for days on end. I started punching out some things in my guest house.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite Nick\u2019s ongoing issues, pal Michael Douglas confirmed that Rob and Michele never gave up on their son.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI also had a son who had had drug issues,\u201d Michael said of his eldest son, Cameron, 47, on the December 21 CBS News: Rob Reiner Scenes From a Life<\/a> special. \u201cI\u2019m happy to say he\u2019s overcome them and living a prosperous life. We did talk a lot about that and what you can do as a parent, what you can\u2019t do. Knowing with all of that going on behind the scenes, this was a man who always gave it his best.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNick is expected to be arraigned on January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n
