NASCAR <\/a>driver Stewart Friesen will require multiple surgeries after suffering serious injuries in a horror wreck in Canada. <\/p>\n

\nFull-time Truck Series driver Friesen, who turned 42 last Friday, was competing in the SuperDIRTcar King of the North race in Drummondville, Quebec, when disaster struck<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nHe was running wide on the track in the very early stages when he was catapulted into the air, flipping multiple times before finally coming to a stop in a flaming wreck. The race was immediately red-flagged. <\/p>\n

\nIn the immediate aftermath of the incident, Friesen’s team confirmed that he had been hospitalized and that he was alert and talking. His wife Jessica later revealed the extent of his significant injuries. <\/p>\n

\nShe confirmed that Stewart had suffered \u2018an unstable\/open-book pelvis fracture\u2019 (meaning breaks in multiple places) and a fractured right leg. <\/p>\n

Stewart Friesen latest health update<\/p>\n

\nBoth of those injuries will now require surgery, with Jessica confirming the details in a fresh health update about her husband<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nShe said: \u201cStewart continues to be in a serious but stable condition at a hospital in Quebec. He will be transferred to a hospital in New York tomorrow, where multiple surgeries will take place in the coming days. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe want to thank everyone here at the hospital in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, for the outstanding care, and several members of the racing community who have helped facilitate getting Stewart closer to home. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cThe outpouring of support from all of our racing family has been overwhelming, in the best way. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cThank you for all of your outreach and encouragement as we continue to work through the next steps in Stewart\u2019s recovery.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nFriesen has competed in 200 races in the Truck Series, currently competing for the Halmar Friesen team. He has four career wins, including one in 2025. <\/p>\n

\nMonday\u2019s wreck came hot on the heels of his disqualification <\/a> from Friday\u2019s Truck Series race in Indianapolis. <\/p>\n

\nFriesen had finished third in the TSport 200, but his No. 52 truck failed post-race inspection due to its ride heights being too low. <\/p>\n
