Tennis Canada\u2019s Distinguished Service Award<\/a> with her peers.<\/p>\nBevington actually won her award back in May, explained Slavica Jovic, director of\u00a0NWT Tennis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe used the occasion to present her an award,” Jovic said.<\/p>\n
Bevington\u2019s distinction\u00a0recognizes people, associations and\/or companies who have made a long-term contribution to tennis in Canada. Jovic said Bevington has been a part of NWT Tennis for all its 40 years. So, the organization’s\u00a040th anniversary\u00a0was the perfect opportunity to present Bevington\u00a0with the award, said Jovic.<\/p>\n
Bevington is also a certified Tennis Canada instructor and has been a recreational tennis coach for children and youth for more than 20 years in Fort Smith.<\/p>\n
Bevington could not be reached for comment prior to Yellowknifer’s press deadline.<\/p>\n
