Those who were wishing for a white Christmas might get their wish a day late. <\/p>\n
The Greater Toronto Area could see \u201csignificant snowfall\u201d on Friday with as much as 10 centimetres of the white stuff, according to Environment Canada.<\/p>\n
The national weather agency has issued a special weather statement for the GTA and most of Southern Ontario advising of the possible winter storm on Boxing Day. <\/p>\n
\u201cSnow is expected to begin late Friday morning and then end from west to east through Friday evening,\u201d Environment Canada said in its statement. \u201cThere is still some uncertainty regarding the track of the low-pressure system, which may impact the eastern edge of the significant snowfall area.\u201d<\/p>\n
Travel could become difficult because of the snow, the statement said. Those who are planning to be out on the roads are being advised to use extra caution and to adjust their travel plans accordingly. <\/p>\n
Toronto is set to see mainly cloudy weather on Christmas Day Thursday, with a high of 1 C, though it could feel more like -11 with the wind chill into the evening. <\/p>\n
Overnight, the temperature is expected to feel more like -19 with the wind chill. <\/p>\n
On Friday the city will see a high of -5 C, with a wind chill of -19 in the morning and -13 in the afternoon. <\/p>\n
