{"id":369332,"date":"2025-12-26T04:56:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-26T04:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/369332\/"},"modified":"2025-12-26T04:56:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-26T04:56:08","slug":"10-best-radio-messages-from-the-f1-2025-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/369332\/","title":{"rendered":"10 best radio messages from the F1 2025 championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From tea breaks to Peter Bonnington\u2019s good looks and the words that Lando Norris has always dreamed of hearing, Formula 1 produced some iconic radio messages during F1 2025.<\/p>\n<p>PlanetF1.com looks back at our 10 favourite.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan Bozzi\u2019s \u2018words of wisdom\u2019 to Charles Leclerc<\/p>\n<p>The opening race of the season in Melbourne was anything but predictable, as changing weather conditions made it tricky for the drivers.<\/p>\n<p>For Charles Leclerc, there was an added \u201cwater\u201d issue that led to a funny exchange with his race engineer Bryan Bozzi.<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc: Is there a leakage?<br \/>Bozzi: A leakage where?<br \/>Leclerc: I have the seat full of water.<br \/>Bozzi: Must be the water.<br \/>Leclerc: Let\u2019s add that to the words of wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>Kimi Antonelli\u2019s \u2018looks\u2019 land him Driver of the Day in China<\/p>\n<p>Just two race weekends into his Formula 1 career, Kimi Antonelli earned his first accolade in the sport when he was voted \u2018Driver of the Day\u2019 by the fans.<\/p>\n<p>But it wasn\u2019t his charge to sixth that saw him come out on top with the fans, it was, according to Toto Wolff, his looks.<\/p>\n<p>Wolff: Kimi, Driver of the Day, we just saw on the screen.<br \/>Antonelli: Me?<br \/>Wolff: Ja, interesting no?<br \/>Antonelli: Yeah, that\u2019s weird.<br \/>Wolff: I think it\u2019s your looks and your target group..<br \/>Peter Bonnington: Into the pit lane please mate. Toto\u2019s a real charmer.<br \/>Wolff: And obviously the looks of your race engineer also.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari\u2019s \u2018tea break\u2019 irked Lewis Hamilton<\/p>\n<p>Lewis Hamilton\u2019s debut season with Ferrari didn\u2019t go to plan with the driver\u2019s season devolving at times into testy radio exchanges with his race engineer Riccardo Adami.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton finished eighth behind his teammate Charles Leclerc at the Miami Grand Prix and let vent over Ferrari\u2019s tardiness in issuing team orders in his favour when he felt he had better pace.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton: You want me to just sit here the whole race?<br \/>Adami: I\u2019ll come back to you.<br \/>Adami: Want to keep DRS to Charles. Go ahead like this.<br \/>Hamilton: Argh, you guys are\u2026 This is not good teamwork. That\u2019s all I\u2019m gonna say!<br \/>Hamilton: In China I got out of the way when you were on a different strategy.<br \/>Adami: We swap the cars\u2026 We swap.<br \/>Hamilton: Ah, have a tea break while you\u2019re at it! Come on!<br \/>Hamilton: This is not good team work, that\u2019s all I\u2019m gonna say.<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc and Hamilton swapped positions but with Hamilton unable to chase down Antonelli, he was told to give the position back to Leclerc.<\/p>\n<p>Adami: We\u2019re gonna swap the cars in T17.<br \/>Hamilton: So you don\u2019t think I can catch up or what?<br \/>Adami: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>Once again behind Leclerc, Hamilton had Sainz on his rear wing.<\/p>\n<p>Adami: Sainz 1.4 behind.<br \/>Hamilton: You want me to let him pass as well?<\/p>\n<p>The best of F1 2025 on PlanetF1.com<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/f1-2025-awards-best-driver-max-verstappen-lando-norris\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PlanetF1.com 2025 Awards: Driver of the Year<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/pf1-awards-best-races-f1-2025-season\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PlanetF1.com Awards: Best Grand Prix of the Year <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lewis Hamilton left on read in Monaco<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton\u2019s terse radio exchanges with Adami continued in the first half of the season as the two adjusted to their new relationship.<\/p>\n<p>It saw Hamilton seemingly left on read after a tense Monaco Grand Prix during which he and Adami appeared to butt heads several times on his way to fifth place.<\/p>\n<p>Adami: It\u2019s a P5. Lost a lot of time in traffic and then the rest we need to investigate.<br \/>Adami: And pick up please. Charge button on.<br \/>Hamilton: Tough result. Yeah. Big thank you to the boys, as I said, for fixing the car. It\u2019s not been the easiest of weekends, but we live to fight another day, so yeah. Thanks.<br \/>Hamilton: Are you upset with me or something?<br \/>Adami did not respond.<\/p>\n<p>When Max Verstappen \u2018just crashed\u2019 into George Russell<\/p>\n<p>Max Verstappen and George Russell had a testy battle at the Spanish Grand Prix when the Red Bull driver was ordered to give a position back to Russell, only to seemingly turn in on him.<\/p>\n<p>As the red mist descended, Verstappen drove into the side of Russell\u2019s car in a move that the Mercedes driver told the media, including PlanetF1.com, \u201cfelt very deliberate\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Gianpiero Lambiase: Max, can you let Russell through please? Let him through.<br \/>Verstappen: He just rammed me off the road!<br \/>Lambiase: But that\u2019s the rules.<\/p>\n<p>As for Russell\u2019s part as the battle played out.<\/p>\n<p>Russell: What the f***?<br \/>Marcus Dudley: Don\u2019t know mate.<br \/>Russell: He just crashed into me.<\/p>\n<p>That long-awaited first podium for Nico Hulkenberg<\/p>\n<p>It only took Nico Hulkenberg 239 grand prix starts but he got there eventually, the Sauber driver recording his debut podium at a rain-affected British Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>A perfect strategy from Sauber saw the German claim Sauber\u2019s first podium in 13 years. <\/p>\n<p>Hulkenberg: Ah f*** me, man. I don\u2019t think I can comprehend what we\u2019ve just done. Oh my god.<br \/>Jonathan Wheatley: This has been the most overdue podium in Formula 1 history and you nailed it.<br \/>Hulkenberg: Thank you. Unbelievable, guys.\u201d<br \/>Gabriel Bortoleto: Nico it\u2019s Gabi, man, you don\u2019t know how happy I am for you. You are a f***ing legend, honestly. Absolutely insane what you did today!<\/p>\n<p>Everyone celebrated, even rival drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Oscar Piastri: At least Hulkenberg got a podium. Not everything was bad today.<\/p>\n<p>First \u2018smooth operation\u2019 for Carlos Sainz in Williams colours<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it was a omen as Carlos Sainz made his way to the grid for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix while track-side marshals sang \u2018Smooth Operator\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>51 laps later, it was Sainz singing \u201csmooth operations\u201d as he recorded his first podium as a Williams driver with a P3 result, the team\u2019s first full-race podium since 2017.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83c\udfa7 Sainz\u2019s radio : \u201cMy first smooth operation in Williams\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AzerbaijanGP?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#AzerbaijanGP<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/F1?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#F1<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/u7p8TVTB23\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/u7p8TVTB23<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Radio Messages (@radiomessages) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/radiomessages\/status\/1969753536419561529?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September 21, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fernando Alonso threatened to hit the mute button<\/p>\n<p>From the man who brought us \u201cGP2\u201d, Fernando Alonso has at times had a go at FOM for broadcasting his more negative radio messages.<\/p>\n<p>There was more of that at the Singapore Grand Prix when the Spaniard grew tired of his race engineer Andrew Vizard\u2019s voice in his ear as he raced his way to seventh place.<\/p>\n<p>Vizard: 34 to go.<br \/>Alonso: If you speak to me every lap, I will disconnect the radio.<\/p>\n<p>The time George Russell had a McLaren \u2018up my a**\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Running behind his teammate Kimi Antonelli at the Mexican Grand Prix, Russell wanted Mercedes to order Antonelli to move over for him as he had Piastri closing in fast.<\/p>\n<p>However, all Russell received in response was Mercedes\u2019 permission to race Antonelli for the position but without team intervention. Russell was not happy.<\/p>\n<p>Russell: Do you want me to let this McLaren pass?<br \/>Dudley: No, thank you.<br \/>Russell: Ah, I was just checking.<\/p>\n<p>Russell\u2019s frustrations boiled over.<\/p>\n<p>Russell: I\u2019ve got a f**ing McLaren in my ass. A car much quicker than ours. I\u2019m trying to hold position. I\u2019ve got much more pace than Kimi here, and we can fight for a podium.<\/p>\n<p>Russell: I\u2019m happy to give the position back if I don\u2019t achieve it, but my tyres are just getting f***ing sacked here.<\/p>\n<p>Lando Norris, \u2018you are the World Champion\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Lando Norris\u2019 race engineer Will Joseph had the honour of being the first person to congratulate the McLaren driver as he clinched the World title by two points ahead of Max Verstappen.<\/p>\n<p>It was a radio message that Norris will most likely never forget.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph: That\u2019s it, mate, you are the World Champion. World champion! Well done, mate, I am so proud.<br \/>Norris: Oh s***! Thank you guys. Oh my god, you made a kid\u2019s dream come true. Thanks so much, I love you guys. Thanks for everything, you deserve it. I love you, Mom. I love you, Dad. Thanks for everything. I\u2019m not crying.\u201d<br \/>Joseph: Me neither. Mate, you made all our dreams come true. Well done, I\u2019m so so happy. I hate to be a little bit boring, but no burnouts. Or don\u2019t\u2026\u201d<br \/>Norris: Thanks, Will. Thanks, Jarv. Thanks, other Will. Oh, we did it, guys.
