However, Binotto emphasised Audi\u2019s extensive expertise in engine development, which he believes will pay off in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think they\u2019ve got more specific skills. We have the background of Audi, the knowledge of Audi, which in the long term will certainly make the difference,\u201d Binotto said via Reuters.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"280\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/binotto-sauber-audi-f1-691cbbc5a4db5.jpg@webp.webp\" class=\"w-auto h-auto\" alt=\"binotto-sauber-audi-f1-jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Mattia Binotto &#8211; Photo: Race Pictures<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks, conversations about the 2026 engines have taken centre stage. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/general\/mercedes-and-red-bull-could-reportedly-gain-around-04-seconds-per-lap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Discussions about the Mercedes engine and Red Bull being among the front-runners for 2026 have emerged.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Talks about the Audi team engine have also surfaced, with the German outfit set to launch its next season challenger in January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Binotto says talks about Audi engines are too optimistic<\/p>\n<p>The former Scuderia Ferrari team principal also stressed that the hype around the Audi engine is a little out of proportion.<\/p>\n<p>Binotto emphasised the need for patience, highlighting that it remains Audi\u2019s maiden year in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gpblog.com\/en\/formula-1\" title=\"Formula 1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think we need patience. We are still in the building phase. I\u2019m not expecting to have the best engine next year at all, but that\u2019s fine because we know our objectives are set for 2030.
