The Las Vegas Raiders are sitting star pass rusher Maxx Crosby for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, according to<\/a> NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. <\/p>\n

Crosby was informed of the team’s decision, as he has been battling a knee injury since October, and the Raiders believe it was in his best interest.<\/p>\n

Despite the injury, the 28-year-old Crosby has been adamant about playing this season, appearing in 15 games. He has 10 sacks, 73 tackles and an interception this campaign.<\/p>\n

Both the Raiders and the Giants sit at the bottom of the standings with 2-13 records and could position themselves for the first-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft with a loss.<\/p>\n

As for Crosby’s desire to help Las Vegas pursue the No. 1 selection, the star edge rusher has no interest in the matter.<\/p>\n

“I don’t give a (expletive) about a pick, to be honest,” Crosby said when asked for his thoughts on the matter earlier this week. “I don’t play for that. That’s not my job. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world. Being a great leader, being an influence.”<\/p>\n

Which may explain why Crosby reportedly left the Raiders’ facility on Friday due to a disagreement over said playing status, per FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The five-time Pro Bowler “vehemently disagreed” with the decision, Glazer added in his reporting.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas will also be without star tight end Brock Bowers, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday alongside safety Jeremy Chinn.<\/p>\n

On the other sideline, the Giants will be also miss their young tight end, as Theo Johnson was ruled out due to an illness on Saturday.<\/p>\n
