Following his massive win over Canelo Alvarez<\/a> in September, Terence Crawford shocked the world by retiring<\/a> from the sport of boxing. Don\u2019t expect him to cross over into MMA, though.<\/p>\n

In a recent stream with Adin Ross, Crawford shared some thoughts on the sport of mixed martial arts and the reasons why he\u2019d never consider competing in it.<\/p>\n

\u201cNah, nah, they don\u2019t pay enough,\u201d he said of a UFC fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan, you get messed up from wrestling,\u201d he added. \u201cJust in general. Wrestling, kicking, boxing, elbowing, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if he had any favorites, \u201cBud\u201d named Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov, while continuing to insist he\u2019d never seen Ilia Topuria<\/a> compete.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, it\u2019s crazy, I\u2019ve never see this dude fight,\u201d he said. \u201cNever, not once. I\u2019m gonna have to watch him on YouTube. I swear to God I\u2019ve never seen him.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all that surprising, considering Crawford\u2019s picks of Khabib and Jones marks him as a 2015-2020 era fan, while Topuria did all his best work over the past three years.<\/p>\n

Crawford also gave a shout out to Conor McGregor, who he says did better against Floyd Mayweather than many give him credit for.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo me, he did real good against Floyd when he was boxing,\u201d Terence said. \u201cHe did better than I thought he would do. He did better than Jake Paul did against Anthony Joshua. And he landed some good shots on Floyd. So I have to say he did pretty good. He did better than I thought he was gonna do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crawford also explained why he walked away from the sport of boxing after such a large star-making performance<\/a> against Canelo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have nothing else to prove,\u201d he said. \u201cI have nothing else to accomplish. It\u2019s like, what more can I do? They\u2019re not gonna give me a credit anyway, so it really doesn\u2019t even matter \u2026 Not to be cocky or anything. It\u2019s just when you\u2019re so much better than the competition and you make them look how they never looked before, everybody says, \u2018Oh, they\u2019re washed,\u2019 or \u2018This guy\u2019s a bum.\u2019 And you don\u2019t get the appreciation that you rightfully deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s kind of funny, because when Ross mentioned that Ilia Topuria knocked out Max Holloway, Crawford wasn\u2019t impressed.<\/p>\n
