Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say <\/p>\n However, the thawing of ice will take a bit more than a few games in the captain\u2019s absence, especially due to Mainoo\u2019s latest stance. <\/p>\n Throughout the whole saga, Mainoo has maintained a rock-solid stance that he wants to prove himself at Old Trafford<\/a>, and failing that, will look for a loan move. <\/p>\n Sir Jim Ratcliffe personally stopped<\/a> a move for him in the summer, but the situation worsened since then, especially with this being a World Cup year. <\/p>\n However, Mainoo\u2019s stance did not change, as he remained intent on seeking a January loan move<\/a> and reassessing his position in the summer. <\/p>\n That looks to have changed now, as iPaper reports<\/a> that for the first time in the whole saga, Mainoo is entertaining the prospect of leaving permanently. <\/p>\n The report states that he\u2019s frustrated with the \u201cmisery\u201d he has endured on the sidelines, but, unfortunately for him, United\u2019s stance is not relaxing. <\/p>\n The club remain committed to keeping him<\/a>, barring a humongous offer that would put them in a position to bag one of their priority midfield targets in January, like Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, or Adam Wharton. <\/p>\n Ruben Amorim will bat for Man Utd<\/p>\n Mainoo\u2019s stance, if true, comes as a blow to the club, but for Ruben Amorim<\/a> and Ineos, it is unlikely to change much, if anything at all.<\/p>\n Amorim has said from day one that all transfers, in and out, will be done with the club\u2019s best interests at heart, and currently, selling Mainoo is against that interest<\/a>.<\/p>\n Has Kobbie Mainoo played his last game for Manchester United this season? <\/p>\n Kobbie Mainoo was left out of the squad to face Aston Villa and Ruben Amorim confirmed he has suffered an injury that could last until the January window\u2026<\/p>\n \ud83d\udc47 Join the debate; share your insight. Use the comment button on the bottom left to have your say <\/p>\n Not only do United lack midfield depth, but it\u2019s clear that he\u2019s quite aware of the optics of selling a player like Mainoo, whose value to the club is more than his performances on the pitch. <\/p>\n It\u2019s unfortunate that Mainoo is having this year when there\u2019s a World Cup at stake, but ultimately, United will have to look out for themselves. <\/p>\n That means keeping a hold of Mainoo, and certainly not letting him leave permanently.
