Michael \u201cVenom\u201d Page is one of the most entertaining fighters<\/a> in the UFC \u2026 so it\u2019s strange that the promotion rarely seems to have any kinds of plans for his future.<\/p>\n

Page has been bouncing back and forth between welterweight and middleweight, largely due to the fact that no one at 170 ever seems available for him to fight. His last fight was an August 2025 win over Jared Cannonier at 185, and now it sounds like he\u2019ll be waiting until the UFC returns to London in March before he steps into the cage again.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy likely next fight is going to be \u2026 the 21st of March,\u201d Page told the Shxts \u2018n\u2019 Gigs podcast (via MMA Junkie).<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m a big name over here, they want me to fight, but they still haven\u2019t got any opponent. \u2018So yeah, you\u2019re definitely going to fight in March, but we\u2019re trying to find you an opponent.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s nice to know that the UFC is finally fighting Page in the U.K. after two years. That implies they recognize his value and are putting some effort into growing his name. But he still seems like an afterthought when it comes to matchmaking. No one wants to fight him,<\/a> which is understandable given his unique style. But that never stopped the UFC from making fights happen when they really want them to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018OK, give me a welterweight fight.\u2019 Nobody\u2019s available,\u201d he recalled. \u201c\u2018OK, give me another middleweight fight.\u2019 They gave me another middleweight fight. Cool. \u2018Give me a welterweight fight.\u2019 Nobody\u2019s available. How can nobody be available? This is literally what I\u2019m getting messaged back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a fight the other day, quite a few welterweights were performing,\u201d Page said. \u201cOne just won a fight spectacularly. I messaged [UFC], \u2018That\u2019s a great fight for me in London.\u2019 \u2018Oh, we\u2019ve got plans for him.\u2019 The guy just stepped out of the cage. I\u2019m all ready for months and you don\u2019t have plans for me, but you have plans for him? Something\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

UFC Fight Night 271 goes down March 21st from the O2 Arena in London, England and is headlined by top ranked featherweights Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev.<\/a> That\u2019s a solid main event, one where the winner should get a title shot. It will be interesting to see where \u201cVenom\u201d ends up on the card. Co-main? Further down?
