Katie Taylor may have built a life for herself in the States with her husband, Sean McCavanagh,<\/a> but that doesn’t mean that the boxing champ doesn’t slot right back in when she makes the trip back to Bray.<\/p>\n

The Olympic champion spent the festive season with her family in Wicklow, keeping the Christmas celebrations low-key. It comes as no surprise that the sportswoman isn’t one to sit around and eat chocolates during the period between Christmas and New Year’s, and instead got the whole family out for a hike.<\/p>\n

Katie posted a picture of her family posing in front of the lake at Glendalough, all wrapped up in winter coats. ‘Blowing the cobwebs away with a nice walk! Hope everyone had a great Christmas,’ she captioned the post. <\/p>\n

Her mother, Bridget, posed alongside the family, but her father, Pete, did not appear to be in attendance. It appears that her hubby Sean, who hails from Connecticut,<\/a> skipped out on the trip, having travelled to Ireland with Katie in the summer.<\/p>\n

Katie opened up about their new life together on The Late Late Show recently, telling Patrick Kielty: ‘It’s definitely been a lovely and unexpected season for me. Since I was a teenager, I was so focused on boxing that I left very little room for relationships.<\/p>\n

‘Even the thought of a relationship was so out of the way for me, so it\u2019s so lovely [being married],\u2019 she added, before joking: \u2018the love snuck up at a later stage of my career.’<\/p>\n
