\n\t2026 stands to be a strong year for cinema, with familiar franchises, family films and ambitious auteurs filling the upcoming slate.<\/p>\n
\n\tThere\u2019s something for everyone to look forward to \u2014 from \u201cScream 7,\u201d \u201cReady or Not 2\u201d and \u201c28 Years Later: The Bone Temple\u201d for the horror fans, to \u201cWuthering Heights\u201d and \u201cSense and Sensibility\u201d for the romantics. Kids will also relish a long list of animated titles, from the original \u201cHoppers,\u201d \u201cGOAT\u201d and \u201cThe Cat in the Hat\u201d to the anticipated sequels \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d \u201cMinions 3\u201d and \u201cThe Super Mario Galaxy Movie.\u201d Beyond animation, families can also look forward to a live-action \u201cMoana\u201d remake and a fourth \u201cJumanji\u201d film before the year\u2019s end.<\/p>\n
\n\tThis year will also see Star Wars, Marvel and DC make splashes on the big screen as \u201cThe Mandalorian and Grogu\u201d takes us back to a galaxy far, far away in May, \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d and \u201cSupergirl\u201d swing and fly into view over the summer and \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d brings its exhaustive list of heroes to theaters at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

\n\tA beloved Jane Austin novel once again gets the big screen treatment with Focus Features\u2019 forthcoming adaptation of the author\u2019s \u201cSense and Sensibility,\u201d set to star Daisy Edgar-Jones as the eldest Dashwood sister, Elinor.\u00a0The story follows the sisters as they navigate love and loss after their father\u2019s death leaves them penniless.\u00a0Esm\u00e9 Creed-Miles, Caitr\u00edona Balfe, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, George\u00a0MacKay\u00a0and Fiona Shaw round out the cast, with Georgia Oakley directing. If the film is anything like\u00a0its\u00a0predecessors \u2014 Focus and Working Title\u00a0also\u00a0collaborated on the\u00a0critically-acclaimed\u00a0\u201cPride & Prejudice\u201d adaptation in 2005 and \u201cEmma\u201d in 2020 \u2014 audiences are in for a treat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
