There wasn\u2019t a lot of good in our game tonight,\u201d Ottawa coach Travis Green said. \u201cI don\u2019t say that very often, but that was probably one of our worst games of the year, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NHL had to push the game\u2019s start time back 30 minutes to 7:30 p.m. ET due to the Blue Jackets\u2019 late arrival. The team\u2019s flight on Sunday was canceled due to mechanical issues, and Monday\u2019s inclement weather resulted in Columbus finally touching down in Ottawa at around 3:50 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot going to lie, it\u2019s a different day, for sure,\u201d Jenner said. \u201cWe\u2019re used to waking up in the city you\u2019re playing in, having your nap, having your pre-game meal, all that. So, that was all out the window. It was a crazy day, to say the least. When we got here, we just wanted to play for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ottawa was 0-for-4 on the power play, while Columbus was 0-for-3.<\/p>\n<p>Jenner redirected a centering pass from Sillinger over Merilainen\u2019s left pad to give the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead at 15:58 of the first period.<\/p>\n<p>Severson one-timed a pass from forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/dmitri-voronkov-8481716\" title=\"Dmitri Voronkov\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dmitri Voronkov<\/a> past Merilainen\u2019s blocker on the rush to push it to 2-0 at 1:21 of the second period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur guys don\u2019t care. They don\u2019t care,\u201d Blue Jackets coach Dean Evason said of the adversity his team faced Monday. \u201cThey just play hockey. They\u2019ve done that. Yeah, maybe we didn\u2019t have the results earlier in the year, but for the most part, we\u2019ve played the same way.
