Matthew Stafford didn\u2019t have his best game against the Atlanta Falcons<\/a> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Stafford threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions during L.A.\u2019s 27-24 upset loss. Stafford had a couple of uncharacteristic throws in the contest and ultimately he couldn\u2019t lead the Rams<\/a> to victory in their penultimate game of the regular season.<\/p>\n

Stafford still managed to make some NFL history in the game though. With his passing production against Atlanta, Stafford moved past Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> legend Ben Roethlisberger for the sixth-most regular season passing yards in league history. Big Ben compiled 64,088 passing yards over the course of his career. Stafford now has 64,257, and counting.<\/p>\n

Now, the only players who have thrown for more yards in the NFL than Stafford are Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Depending on how long he wants to play, Stafford, 37, could continue to climb the list.<\/p>\n

After the loss to Atlanta, Stafford was understandably more focused on his own subpar performance in the game than any individual accolade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI obviously didn\u2019t play well enough,\u201d Stafford said<\/a>. \u201cNothing they did to be honest with you. Same kind of stuff they\u2019ve been doing all year. We didn\u2019t execute well enough I obviously didn\u2019t play well enough. That’s what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stafford and the Rams have one more regular season game remaining.
